MUMS-TO-BE in Hampshire are being invited to help deliver a very special Christmas message.

Makers of the Bafta award-wining series One Born Every Minute are looking for mums to take part in their live festive special.

As reported in the Daily Echo last month, the show will be coming live from the Princess Anne Hospital in Southampton on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to catch some festive births.

It will form part of Channel 4’s alternative Queen’s Speech as the documentary beams live for the first time, from the delivery rooms and into our living rooms.

The first of the five hour-long instalments, called One Born At Christmas, will be shown on Christmas Eve to introduce the mothers-to-be, and then from midday the following day there will be more updates on their stories.

All of the births will be pre-recorded, but there will be live interviews and catch-ups, with viewers able to send in their views.

Dragonfly TV, which makes the programme, is still looking for mums due to give birth between now and January 6 to take part in the show and share their special moments.

Sanjay Singhal, of Dragonfly, said: “I can’t remember the last time Channel 4 gave over its Christmas Day schedule to a live factual event so it’s great to be working on such a bold and innovative production.”
