Hampshire MP Julian Lewis is to vote against the government’s planned tuition fees, it has emerged tonight.
The Tory member for New Forest East is the latest to add his name against the plans that will see students paying up to £9,000 to attend university from 2012.
Former Home Secretary David Davis has already announced he will vote against the plans.
Meanwhile Lib Dem leader, and deputy prime minister Nick Clegg has revealed he will vote in favour of the proposals. His decision comes despite a number of his party’s MPs claiming that they will vote against the idea.
The proposals, unveiled by the coalition leaders, have sparked mass unrest with thousands of students protesting across the country last month.
