FIRE crews have put out a blaze at a Southampton home.

Ten firefighters from Hightown Fire Station took an hour to deal with the blaze in the lounge of a semi-detached property in Middle Road, Sholing, after they were alerted by a passerby shortly before 4.30pm today.

They used two breathing apparatus, one jet and positive pressure ventilation.

No-one was hurt or had to be rescued during the fire and the damage was contained to the one room.

Police cordoned off part of the road which had been blocked by the two fire engines.
