A MAN previously quizzed on suspicion of the murder of a Hampshire grandmother almost three years ago was last night re-arrested.
Detectives took the man back in for questioning this afternoon – a week before he had been due to answer bail over the murder of Georgina Edmonds.
It’s almost three years since the 77-year-old was found bludgeoned to death in her home in Kiln Lane, Brambridge.
Mrs Edmonds had been beaten to death with a rolling pin and also stabbed around the top of her body. She was found in a pool of blood by her son Harry Edmonds when he returned to the family estate from work on the afternoon of Friday January 11, 2008.
The man was initially arrested in June last year after police swooped during the early hours on the home he shared with his mum in Bishopstoke.
Another property, a flat in The Crescent, Eastleigh, where he was living at the time of the murder, was also searched by teams of police.
The 32-year-old was being held on suspicion of murder and being re interviewed by detectives leading the inquiry.
Hampshire police are not confirming any other details.
