THE family of murdered Hampshire woman Jo Yeates welcomed the latest developments in the hunt for their daughter's killer.
Speaking at their home in Ampfield, Jo's dad David said they were told early today.
Standing with his wife Teresa and holding Jo's cat Bernard, he said: "Both Teresa and I are very pleased an arrest has been made and the investigation is moving forward.
"We know as much as you do. Police informed us at 6am this morning that someone had been arrested on suspicion of Jo's murder, and their age.
"They told us before they made the announcement about the arrest and other than that we do not know much more.
"We are optimisitic about the progress, but we have not been told the name of the person who has been arrested."
A 32-year-old man was this morning arrested in connection with the murder of 25-year-old Jo.
