IT was a night of glitz and glamour to rival the Golden Globes.
The great and good of the South’s amateur theatre world gathered at Southampton’s De Vere Grand Harbour Hotel for the Daily Echo’s annual Curtain Call Awards.
Joyous Showstoppers scooped the coveted production of the year award for their memorable production of Jekyll and Hyde.
Guest star Graham Cole, best known as The Bill’s PC Tony Stamp, handed out the prizes in each of 37 categories.

More than 400 guests enjoyed a three-course dinner and performances from Ringwood Musical and Dramatic Society, Stickman Productions and Performing Arts Company before dancing the night away to some disco classics.
Comperes the Daily Echo’s editor Ian Murray and entertainments editor Lorelei Reddin thanked category sponsors The Mayflower, sound and lighting experts Mike Andrews and his team, Asda Totton for supplying bottles of bubbly for the winners, ticket and programme printers Hampshire Press and the De Vere, who sponsored the drinks reception.
