A HAMPSHIRE school is celebrating a glowing Ofsted report that is the culmination of three years of hard work.
Stanmore Primary in Winchester has been graded as “good” which is an improvement on the “satisfactory” that the inspectors gave it in 2008.
The report not only praised the school’s teaching, but also its wider role of supporting students and the community.

Head teacher Amanda Jones praised both the staff and the children for their efforts.
She said: “I was really thrilled with the report and I think it justifies all the work put in by the teachers and the children in the past few years.
“We have an innovative curriculum which challenges the children’s interests and imagination so that they all want to learn.”
“We will be aiming for an outstanding next and the work continues in all areas of the school as there are always improvements you can make.”
The report highlighted the good behaviour of children throughout the school and also praised the enthusiasm and energy of the students in their learning.
Chairman of governors Patrick Davies said: “I have always believed that Stanmore is a very good school that gives children the best possible start in life and it’s good to know that Ofsted agrees.”
