COLLEAGUES Rob Gove r and Phil Wy ndham live within yards of each other in Romsey and have been sharing lifts to Southampton-based Ordnance Survey for more than 25 years.
They reckon each of them has saved paying for the fuel of around 25,000 miles of journeys.
Mr Gover, products manager for the mapping agency, said: “It’s always worked out well. It’s not just the cost saving – it’s also nice to have someone to chat with on the way to and from work.”
Another colleague, Paul Tatham, a project manager at the company, cycles in most days, but uses a car share on the odd occasion. He said: “I cycle in as much as I can but I keep all my shirts in my locker so they don’t get creased up. I come in via car share wh en that needs stocking up.”
