A SHOCKED Exeter City have sent their best wishes to Dan Seaborne as he fights for his life in hospital.
The defender, who sustained serious head injuries in an incident outside a Southampton nightclub in the early hours of this morning, started his career at the Grecians, before moving to Saints in January 2010.
The 24-year-old is still held in high regard at St James Park, having come through the ranks there.
Steve Perryman, director of football at Exeter City, told the Daily Echo: "Everyone at Exeter City wishes Dan, and his family, well at this time.
"He is such a lovely lad and we desperately hope that he recovers as soon as he can."
Seaborne captained Exeter in the 2007/08 season, when they won the Conference play-off final.
The following year he was a mainstay in the side that achieved promotion to League One.
Seaborne made 96 first-team appearances in his time at Exeter, scoring five goals, before Saints snapped him up for a fee in the region of £250,000.
