Christmas is that time of year when we focus on traditional past-times, good food and holiday spirit. What better way to feel even more Christmassy than by adding a little festive cheer to your beauty routine. Creators of fresh handmade cosmetics, here at Lush we work with only the very best natural ingredients and the following treats are packed full of traditional seasonal fare to help feed, nourish and brighten your skin this Yuletide.
Cranberries.
Traditionally served with Christmas dinner, but here at Lush we can find a much better use for them in our Buche De Noel cleanser (£5.95 per 100g). Helen Ambrosen, Lush Co-Founder and Product Inventor comments: "We love to use beautiful ingredients in our products and find great inspiration from lovely seasonal fruits such as Cranberries and Satsumas. In Buche De Noel we are sure we have made a blend Santa would approve of. Cranberries lend their deep red colour to the mask and with their tart consistency help to de-grease the skin. The juice of Satsumas has a similar action, helping to remove excess oil. With the other ingredients in Buche De Noel, these festive fruits leave the skin cleansed, refreshed and soft."
Also contains ground almonds to gently exfoliate, kaolin clay to draw out dirt and excess grease and vegetable glycerine and almond oil to soften and moisturise. There’s even a little brandy thrown in for good measure!
Satsumas.
A popular festive fruit at Christmas time and known for their refreshing and uplifting properties, satsumas have also inspired Lush’s festive Satsumo Santa bath ballistic (£2.95). Lush Co-Founder and Product Inventor, Mo Constantine OBE, who originally invented the bath ballistic in 1987, says “Satsuma’s are traditionally placed at the toe of a Christmas stocking. Lush’s Satsumo Santa bath ballistic is a novelty take on this festive tradition.” Made with a blend of mandarin oil, bergamot oil and orange flower absolute, this revitalising bath ballistic is super uplifting and full of Christmas cheer - the perfect fruity stocking filler for Christmas Day.
Ginger.
Often used within cakes and biscuits, this festive spice is a worldwide Christmas classic. Inspired by the traditional German markets with snow-topped roofs, the Lush Gingerbread House bubble bar (£2.95) contains ginger oil and ginger powder and whilst being super warming. Gingerbread House even comes complete with a cinnamon stick chimney and decorative sugar sprinkles! Crumble under warm running water for warm and spicy bubble bath experience.
Champagne.
This bubbly tipple needs no introduction and is of course a firm favourite for both Christmas and New Year celebrations. Lush’s brand NEW Celebrate lip tint (£4.75), is a wonderful treat for lips in need of both a little TLC and a light shimmer. Made with a blend of icing sugar, cognac and grapefruit oil for a delicious taste and with jojoba and almond oil to moisturise, this pink lip tint even has popping candy for a celebratory finish in true champagne style.
Lush Make Up Artist, Charlotte Matheson comments: “This is THE party colour of the season. It suits all skin tones and will add pizzaz to any outfit without drying the lips. The jojoba oil will keep flaky, unsightly winter lips at bay.”
