A HAMPSHIRE police motorcyclist is in hospital after a crash while on a training exercise.
The 52-year-old officer was riding his motorbike when he collided with a Citroen C5 estate car on the A32 Wickham Road yesterday afternoon.
The officer suffered “serious injuries” but was said to be in a stable condition at Southampton General Hospital.
The car driver was arrested on suspicion of careless driving in connection with the crash, near the junction with Pook Lane.
Police closed the slip road at junction 10 of the M27, after the crash at around 1.40pm, while the A32 was also shut between the roundabout south of the crash and the Knowle Village roundabout, as officers investigated.
The roads re-opened at around 6pm.
