THE jobs of 28 supermarket workers are at risk after a Hampshire store announced that it is closing.
The Co-op in West Street, Fareham, will shut its doors for the final time on Saturday, December 10.
Co-op bosses say that they are aiming to find jobs elsewhere in the company for as many of the workers as possible.
A spokesman said that the decision to close the store had been taken “with the greatest reluctance”.
He added: “The closure is due to the store’s poor trading performance and is not, in any way, a reflection on the commitment and hard work of the store team. Every effort will be made to redeploy as many as possible of the 28 members of staff with The Co-operative, or to help them find alternative employment.”
