THE hard work and dedication of a Southampton nurse has won her a prestigious international award.
Jennifer Allison, pictured, based at Southampton General Hospital, has been selected for the International Association of Clinical Research Nurses distinguished clinical research nurse award.
As part of her achievement, Jennifer, senior nurse manager at the Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility (WTCRF), will present a lecture on her career to colleagues from across the world.
The award recognises people who have made an important contribution to research nursing.
She said: “I am very honoured to receive this prestigious award, which reflects not only on my work in both the US and here in the UK, but also that of my many colleagues, and I hope the award brings further recognition of the cutting-edge research being performed by our excellent team in Southampton.”
Dr Saul Faust, director of the WTCRF and a senior lecturer at the University of Southampton, said: “This award is recognition of Jennifer’s outstanding achievements and highlights the growing impact and success of a university and hospital trust partnership in delivering clinical research that benefits patients in the NHS.”
