STAFF at the New Forest National Park Authority (NPA) have moved into their new home – in less than three days.
The NPA has transferred from South Efford House in Milford Road, Everton, to Lymington Town Hall, which it will share with the district council.
Removal men worked until midnight for two consecutive days to shift the 70 desks, 30 filing cabinets and 30,000 planning files.
The 47-year-old town hall has been modernised using a £750,000 grant from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
However, the council and the NPA claim that sharing services will result in “significant” savings.
About 70 local government workers have transferred to the council’s headquarters at Appletree Court in Lyndhurst to make way for the new occupants.
The NPA had only temporary planning permission to use South Efford House and its lease expires next month.
