HAMPSHIRE could be set for a jobs bonanza after plans for a luxurious new private hospital were given the green light.

After proposals to open the state-of-the- art hospital were controversially rejected nine months ago, an appeal to overturn the decision has been won.

Now the landowner is one step closer to building the hospital which promises to create more than 400 jobs and inject £70m into the local economy.

But although the use of the land has been extended to include a medical facility as well as businesses, councillors will still have to grant full planning permission before the hospital can become a reality.
