TWO Hampshire refuse workers have been taken to hospital after being trapped when their rubbish truck toppled over.
Fire crews were called to Gull Coppice, off Yew Tree Drive in Whiteley, amid reports a large goods vehicle collided with two parked cars, shortly after 12.30pm.
Teams from Fareham, Hightown and Cosham were sent to help free the workers trapped inside.
Fareham Borough Council said two of the three refuse collectors in the vehicle at the time have been taken to hospital, while the other was uninjured.
As the parked cars the lorry toppled onto were empty, there are no reports of any other casualties.
Gull Coppice has been closed off to allow the emergency services to deal with the crash, which will be investigated by police.
