A GANG launched an attack on a man before leaving him lying in the road bloodied and battered.
The 53-year-old was left with cuts and bruises and a potentially broken eye socket after being set upon by four or five people as he walked along Gordon Road in Fareham.
His attackers left him lying in the road after the assault and made off towards Trinity Street.
Police say the gang were all white and that the main offender was a woman in her mid-30s wearing a white headscarf.
Detective Constable Pete Lavin said: “This is a mindless, unprovoked act of violence committed by a group of thugs on a lone individual, that has left the victim with potentially serious injuries.”
Witnesses to the assault, at 7.40pm on November 26, should contact Fareham CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
