Plans have been approved to redevelop sheltered accommodation in Fareham.
Collingwood House in Gibraltar Close has 26 flats for elderly and vulnerable residents, but Fareham Borough Council now plans to demolish the existing building and build 35 new flats.
The project is set to cost £3.25m with £625,000 coming from a grant from the Homes and Communities Agency.
Councillors approved the scheme at a meeting last week.
Work is set to start on the project in February 2013 and current residents will be given the option to permanently move to suitable accommodation or temporarily relocate before moving back to Collingwood House.
