Winchester ice rink bosses have today crushed speculation that the facility is melting.
Worried ticket holders have contacted the rink today concerned that it has shut due to the weather melting the ice.
But Simon Barwood, from Winchester Cathedral, who run the Christmas open air rink in Cathedral Close, said that although there are reports of rinks up north having to close due to melting ice, Winchester's ice rink has not been affected and is currently up and running.
He said they had had calls from worried ticket-holders, but was not sure how the idea that they were not going to be open had got out.
βAt the moment there is not a problem in Winchester and we don't envisage with the weather at the moment there is going to be,β he said.
He added that if there was a problem they would have let people know through the website.
Tickets are available for most of today's sessions and people can buy on the door, at winchester-cathdral.org.uk or call 01962 857 276.
