SAINTS legends visited the children's unit at the city's hospital to present money that will go towards toys and a laptop computer.
Former footballers Matt Le Tissier and Francis Benali met the youngsters in the paediatric unit to present a £1,000 cheque from the ex-Saints Association generated by charity matches and fundraising dinners this year.
They took time to speak to children in the unit and other youngsters at the hospital and association chairman Mike Thew said it was a special choice for one of three donations they still hope to make with this year's funds.
He said: “The money is to buy things for all the children to use while they are there.
“They needed a laptop as there are kids who are there for long-term treatment.
“There are nine, ten and 11 year-olds who will use the computer.”
The two players have been involved in a range of fundraising activities this year.
Mr Thew added: “Franny and Matt gave up their time to come and present the cheque and they were really good for such a good cause.
“They are fantastic ambassadors and they love kids.”
