A WIDOWER killed himself on the first wedding anniversary after his wife’s death, an inquest heard.
Police responding to concerns about Denis Lyle found the 83-year-old retired industrial chemist dead in his home in Emery Down, Lyndhurst, in September after he suffocated himself, Southampton Coroner’s Court was told.
Nearby were cases of champagne with printed out Google maps attached that directed delivery to friends.
A note found in the property explained that he could no longer go on after the death of his wife Pamela.
Southampton coroner Keith Wiseman recorded a verdict that he took his own life.
