FIVE teenagers have been arrested in connection with a terrifying burglary.
Residents of Havelock Chambers, in Queens Terrace, Southampton, reported that a gang of masked thieves broke into their block of flats, breaking down the doors of three apartments and beating up occupants.
One witness said that his neighbour was dragged down two flights of stairs when he confronted the burglars as they tried to break into a nearby empty apartment.
A couple living in the third apartment the gang broke into were also attacked.
Property was stolen from all three flats – including jewellery, a laptop, electrical items and a watch.
Three men, aged 19, 18 and 16, and a 19-year-old woman, all from Southampton, have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
A 13-year-old boy from Southampton has also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
They have all been bailed until later this month.
Anyone with information about the burglary, which happened at about 6.15pm on Friday, November 18, can call Shirley CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
