THEY’VE arrived in their hundreds – now Christmas cards aimed at spreading some cheer among Hampshire soldiers are on their way to Afghanistan.
More than 500 colourful cards filled with well wishes for our troops have poured in to the Daily Echo as part of our festive campaign to let soldiers from the 1st Battalion, Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment, know that everyone at home is thinking of them.
Cards from primary schools, after-school clubs, churches, MPs and residents across Hampshire have now been boxed up and sent to the frontline where The Tigers are currently deployed for seven months.
Ian Murray, editor in chief of the Daily Echo, said: “The campaign has received a wonderful response and shows just how much Hampshire troops are in so many people’s thoughts this Christmas.
“We wish them all a very safe festive season away from their loved ones.”
