A SOUTHAMPTON church has turned into a festive forest as it plays host to a Christmas Trees and Musical Festival.
It is the first time the event has been staged by the St James Road Methodist Church at St James Road in Shirley.
Almost 30 trees have been delivered to the church and arranged throughout the building and adjoining hall. Local businesses have been invited to decorate them on a theme of their choice. Everything from flip flops to dog biscuits, sweets and handmade cups and saucers have been used to decorate the trees that will provide a backdrop of colour for the threeday music festival.
The programme of music includes performances from gospel choirs, folk bands and piano performances. There will also be a host of craft stalls.
The festival took place yesterday and continues from 2pm to 4pm today.
