A YOUNG woman was left terrified when she was grabbed from behind by a stranger.
The 20-year-old was walking home through Hoglands Park in Southampton and had crossed over at Kingsway at about 7pm on Sunday when the attempted robbery took place.
She felt someone was close behind her when a male reached around her with both arms.
She managed to wriggle free and ended up facing the man. He demanded money but she ran off.
The suspect is described as a white man in his early 20s, about 5ft 7in, medium build, clean shaven wearing a black hooded waterproof jacket and blue jeans.
PC Patrick Coughlin, said: “This incident occurred during the day where a female was grabbed from behind and left very shaken and frightened.”
Anyone with information about the offence on Sunday call PC Coughlin at Shirley police station on 101.
