POLICE fear a series of burglaries could be the start of a festive spree in the Winchester and Alresford area.
They are warning homeowners to be on their guard after four overnight burglaries in the same road in Four Marks, near Alresford in the space of three weeks.

The most recent on Blackberry Lane happened between Sunday night and yesterday morning where the offender got in and took cash, but three other properties were targeted on the same road on one night two weeks ago.
In all cases, the offender broke in and took items such as cash, wallets or electrical equipment such as iPhones or laptops.
Police senior investigator Jerry King, in Winchester burglary unit, said: “We need to make sure the public are fully aware to keep their places locked up secure.
“At this time of year the burglary offences do tend to go up a bit.
“We’re just concerned that this could be the start of a Christmas burglary spree by people in our area.”
Police are appealing for witnesses and information.
