A ROW over plans to stage medieval jousting tournaments in the New Forest has taken a new twist.
A leading district councillor has been cleared of making “unwarranted allegations” about Brockenhurst resident Allan Hendry during a discussion on whether the scheme should go ahead.
Councillor Maureen Holding clashed with Mr Hendry at a meeting of the parish council. The former teacher was subsequently reported to the district council but has now been cleared of breaching the code of conduct.
As reported in the Daily Echo, the district council has rejected two applications by entrepreneur Alan Girling to stage jousting tournaments at Black Knoll Barn in Rhine-field Road, Brockenhurst.
The Boldre-based businessman intends to submit a third application.
