A TEENAGER made a five-minute appearance in court in connection with fires that cost an estimated £100,000 damage to two council houses in Southampton.
Jason Bartlett, 19, of Sedbergh Road, Millbrook, was charged with causing damage by fire to the properties in Mansel Road East, Millbrook, when reckless as to whether life would be endangered.
Judge Peter Ralls QC heard the defence were awaiting a psychiatric report to determine whether he is fit to plead.
Bartlett was further remanded in custody to appear at the city crown court again on January 6.
