A PENSIONER has died following a car accident on a Hampshire road, today.
The 70-year-old man was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham, after the car he was driving was in collision with a a moped near Crofton Community Association, Stubbington Lane, at 11.30am.
The pensioner later died at the hospital.
The rider of the moped, a 42-year-old Fareham woman sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
The road from Stubbington Green to Bells Lane was closed for three hours while collision investigators examined the scene and the two vehicles were recovered.
Diversions were in place from Eric Road and Gosport Road but were lifted shortly before 3pm when the road was reopened.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle prior to it, is asked to contact PC Alex Dale at Fratton Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting Operation Firefly.
