A CLUBBER who threw a glass in another man’s face at a Southampton nightclub was jailed for 12 months.
The city crown court heard that it shattered on impact, leaving the victim with multiple superficial cuts.
James Russo, 21, claimed he had felt threatened when Scott Bagley approached him in The Tokyo Bar, Bedford Place, with “his chest puffed out” and his arms outstretched.
In a letter read to the court by defence barrister Ximena Jones, Russo said he was remorseful and had not been looking for trouble.
Passing sentence, Judge Peter Henry accepted the violence had not been premeditated but it was only pure luck that Mr Bagley had not been more seriously hurt.
Russo, of Windermere Road, West End, admitted causing actual bodily harm.
