AN arson investigation is underway today after residents were forced out of their homes following a shed blaze.
Up to eight sheds were torched, sending smoke billowing towards three homes, shortly before 10pm last night.
Police received an initial call and in turn contacted the fire brigade who tackled the blaze.
Residents from three homes were made to evacuate while crews made the area safe. It is believed they were able to return home late in the evening.
The area in York Close, Northam, Southampton, is today still cordoned off while Hampshire's arson investigation team examine the scene.
Police have arrested two teenage boys - one aged 14 and the other 16 - on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life. They are also being questioned on suspicion of burglary.
Anyone with information is being urged to contact Southampton police custody investigation team on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
