A NEW Forest builder was jailed for 20 months after a woman woke up on a sofa to find him abusing her, Southampton Crown Court heard.
The woman complained to her mother and boyfriend and Paul Johnson was arrested.
Johnson, 40, of North Road, Brockenhurst, was convicted of a sexual assault after jurors rejected his defence that he had been “blowing a raspberry” on her.
Passing sentence, Judge Peter Burrell QC dismissed his explanation as fanciful.
He said: “She had to go through the ordeal of giving evidence in court and she was very distressed in doing so. You were affected by drink but that was no excuse.
“It was a fleeting assault but the jury has found you guilty of a violation of this young woman's body when she was completely and utterly vulnerable.”
