TWO teenagers are in hospital tonight after an accident on a major Hampshire road.
Police said a 13-year-old boy was crossing the A326 near Totton when he was in collision with a motorcycle ridden by an 18-year-old youth.
They were both taken to Southampton General Hospital with life-threatening injuries and were later described as being in a critical condition.
Police say the crash happened near the Mercedes garage just before 1pm.
They closed the A326 between the Rushington roundabout and Jacobs Gutter Lane for three hours while they investigated the cause of the accident.
The boy and the motorcyclist are both believed to be from the Southampton area.
Police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone who saw what happened should ring Acting Sergeant Philip Pentelow, quoting Operation Abbas, at the Totton Roads Policing Unit on 101. They can also call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
