A NEW outdoor performing arts stage has been unveiled at a Hampshire school.

The Mayor of Eastleigh, Councillor Peter Wall, performed the honours at Wildern School in Hedge End.

Singers from the school-based community choir performed at the event to mark the official opening of the sculpture park.

The area, featuring a water wall sculpture, was designed by SDCL Symbiotics in Andover with the help of school pupils.

Local artists will be able to exhibit their 3D work on the site, which can also be used as an outdoor performance space with seating for community events.A sensory garden is planned for the future.

The school will once again celebrate its new sculpture park on October 14, from 11am until 4pm, when it will host sculpture workshops for the community.

Activities will include origami, mural painting and Lego modelling. Admission will cost £2. For more details call 01489 779471.
