YOUNGSTERS at a Hampshire school enjoyed a morning of all things Japanese.
Three Japanese students from the University of Southampton visited The Crescent School in Eastleigh as part of celebrations for International Day.
The nine and ten-year-old children had demonstrations in origami, calligraphy, Japanese name writing, geography and even how to use chopsticks.
Head teacher John Fleet told the Daily Echo he was pleased to welcome the students after receiving an e-mail from the university asking if the students could visit.
He said: "It is important for the children to experience different cultures and languages, particularly as from 2009 it will be compulsory for key stage two students to be actively learning a second language."
