SUZUKI chose the trendy Paradis Latin nightclub in Paris for the world launch of their 2007 K7 range of bikes last week.

First shown as a concept bike at the 2001 Tokyo motor show, the Suzuki B King, pictured right, has finally made it to a production model. It made its only European appearance back in January 2002 at the Alexandra Palace Motor-cycle Show. The bike launched last week is a full -blown production model, scheduled for 2007. It's changed very little from the original design concept first shown - it's lost its supercharger, but keeps the modified 1,300 Hayabusa engine.

Rumours are that this engine is the new engine for the redesigned Hayabusa, which is overdue.

Gone are the fingerprint ignition system and built-in satnav system shown on the original concept but it has gained a pillion seat and other road legal necessities.

The huge exhaust system stays, as do most of the original styling features. The big tank with its built-in flashers dominate the bike. Colours are a very striking silver and matt black.

Prices and specifications are, of course, as yet unknown but speculation is that around £10K will buy you this piece of Japanese exotica and it should be available mid-2007.

Also shown was the new Suzuki GSXR1000K7. It takes a very brave designer to change what is arguably the best sports bike made, but they seem to have succeeded. The bike now has three different engine maps available from a handlebar- mounted switch. New colours too for the GSXR600 and 750 K7 models. Also shown were two new Bandits with water-cooled engines. The 1200, pictured left, grows 50cc and becomes 1250 while the 650 remains the same capacity but now comes with a water-cooled fuel injected engine. Anti-lock braking seems to be being added to more bikes as standard, and both the V-Strom models will come with ABS fitted as standard for 2007.
