THE trial of a man accused of murdering an aspiring model and Hampshire college student is due to start today.
Former boyfriend Elliot Turner, 20, will appear at Winchester Crown Court accused of killing Brockenhurst College student Emily Longley.
Turner, from Q u e e n s w o o d Avenue, Queens Park in Bournemouth, will be in the dock alongside his parents, Leigh and Anita Turner, who are charged with perverting the course of justice.
The trial at Winchester Crown Court is expected to last at least four weeks.
Emily was 17 when she was found dead at the Turner family home in Queenswood Avenue on May 7 last year.
Elliot Turner is alleged to have murdered the teenager on May 7 and is also charged with intent to pervert the course of justice between May 6 and July 21 last year, namely that he failed to t e l ephone emergency services and that he attempted to persuade Anita Turner to change her account to the police.
Leigh Turner, 53, and his 50- year-old wife Anita are charged with, between May 6 and July 21, intent to pervert the course of justice, namely that they failed to telephone the emergency services, removed evidence and destroyed vital evidence in the case of Elliot Turner, accused of murdering Emily Longley.
Emily, who was brought up in New Zealand, was staying with her grandparents in Southbourne while studying at Brockenhurst College when tragedy struck.
She was born in London but moved to New Zealand with her parents, Mark and Caroline, when she was just nine.
After her death, thousands of people paid tribute via a Facebook site and friends and family spoke of her beauty and her ambitions for the future
