DETECTIVES have tonight charged a man with the brutal murder of a Hampshire great-grandmother.
Jamie Lee Boult, 24, from Chessel Crescent, Southampton, is accused of killing pensioner Delia Hughes, 85, who was found dead at her home in Ocean Village four weeks ago.
He will appear before Southampton Magistrates' Court tomorrow.
Jamie Lee Boult was arrested yesterday on suspicion of murder and held overnight in police custody for questioning by detectives from the Hampshire Major Investigation Team.
Delia's body was discovered on August 18 by relatives who had visited her ground floor flat in Atlantic Close after failing to make contact with her.
A post mortem revealed she had suffered several blunt force blows to the head.
A 29-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder in the days following Delia's death were released on bail pending further inquiries.
