One of the group accused of murdering Jamie Dack broke down after a series of police interviews and told his solicitor he now had to tell the truth, a court heard.

In what the prosecution say was a confession, Lee Nicholls gave a full account of how the 22-year-old met his death at the hands of him and his co-accused.

He told how on Thuraday April 5 he had been told by Donna Chalk that Jamie had tried it on with his girlfriend, a girl called Amber.

He described how he lured Jamie into the bedroom of a flat in Bevois Mews and began hitting him with a baseball bat.

Nicholls went on to say how Dwyer-Skeats had kicked him in the face and they had put Jamie into a wardrobe where he was soaked in his own blood that night.

He went on to describe how at one point Chalk was also "having a go".

Nicholls told how Jamie was tied up and left in a duvet, gagged with a sock to stop him crying out for help.

The following day, having sold Jamie's laptop for £100, the four returned and the final beating and killing unfolded.

He described how all three men took it in turns hitting him with a bat, Nicholls hit him up to 30 times with a bottle and all of the male accused stabbed Jamie who was pleading with them to stop.

Chalk was present in the flat and made no attempt to stop them, he added.

Nicholls, Dwyer-Skeats and Woodmansey have pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice by removing, disposing of and setting Jamie's body on fire. Chalk denies the same charge.

All four defendants deny murder.
