Peel Common Wastewater Treatment Works is set for further upgrades, which a water company says will help keep smells at bay.
Long-suffering residents of Fareham said the site had caused “Peel Common Pong” across the borough for two decades.
But a £29m improvement scheme implemented in 2008 put the reek to rest.
Now a further £3.5m has been pledged by Southern Water to make even more improvements to the 37-acre works.
