A MOTORCYCLIST has died after a fatal collision on a busy Hampshire road.
The accident which happened at Staples Cross in Boarhunt on the B2177 involved a Triumph motorbike and a green Landrover Defender.
The motorcyclist, who is in his 30s and from the Portsmouth area, died at the scene. No one else was seriously injured in the incident.
The junction at Staples Cross is currently closed in all directions, with drivers being urged to avoid the area until early evening, or to use the M27 between junctions 10 and 12 or alternative local routes.
Police are appealing for drivers who may have witnessed the crash which happened at 1.30pm to come forward and contact Sergeant Gabriel Snuggs from the Eastleigh Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting Operation Golan.
