THE New Milton Café Light Youth Project has been given a £9,210 boost by the National Lottery's Awards for All scheme.
The charity, which started in 2004 as a youth drop-in centre, now runs various out-reach projects at New Milton Recreation Centre to promote positive behaviour in the community.
Through community sport games the 11 to 16-year-olds are kept away from crime and are taught how to work as a team.
Adam Clewer, founder of the scheme, said: "The project has had a positive impact on both young people and the local community.
"We are absolutely thrilled with the lottery grant, as it means we can supply a support worker on a more regular basis."
