A WOMAN was airlifted to hospital after falling from the top floor of a Hampshire hotel yesterday morning.
Police are investigating how the 38-year-old came to fall from the second floor of The Grosvenor Hotel in Stockbridge.
Officers arrived at the scene shortly before 9am to find the woman, a live-in housekeeper at the hotel, lying on the pavement in Stockbridge High Street.
She suffered serious head injuries in the incident and was flown to Southampton General Hospital by air ambulance.
A nearby officer worker, said: “There was a lot of activity for a long period of time, then a stretcher came across [and took the casualty] to the back of the police station.”
A spokeswoman for Hampshire Police confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances and the hotel was closed most of Thursday.
