A SOUTHAMPTON teenager has begun a two-year prison term after failing to comply with a drug rehabilitation order.
Jake Defreitas, 19, of Luarel Way, did not turn up for two appointments as part of his requirements, which was imposed at the city crown court in October.
Judge Gary Burrell QC said he had been persuaded to give the man a chance, but his progress had been disappointing and he had not shown any intention of addressing his problem.
Defreitas had pleaded guilty to possessing cocaine with intent to supply, which the judge described as street dealing but on a lesser role.
Southampton Crown Court heard the teenager, who had previous convictions for robbery and theft, was also in breach of a suspended sentence for possessing cannabis.
