THIS is the latest vision for the next stage of Southampton’s biggest new housing development.

Plush flats and luxury penthouses overlook a series of gardens, courtyards and rockeries, and look out to the emerging Admiral’s Quay development over the water in Ocean Village.

The developer behind the £500million Centenary Quay complex has released the latest images as it launches the third phase of the development.

As well as a mixture of 329 one, two and three-bedroom apartments and luxury penthouses, phase three will also contain a new Morrison’s supermarket, a library and a YMCA nursery.

And there is scope for yet more retail space on the former Vosper Thornycroft site with a number of other units being built there.

Work has already begun on phase three, and 56 apartments are currently available for sale.

The new nursery – which will employ 25 staff and be open for youngsters aged from four months to five years old – and library will both open in September.

Morrison’s supermarket is due to open next November.

The site will eventually feature more than 1,600 homes as well as restaurants and cafes.

Developer Crest Nicholson says the third phase will see two new flat complexes, called Meridian Circus and Fairfax Wharf, built.

As well as the flats, they will also feature a number of courtyards and gardens, and are energy-efficient.

Crest Nicholson Regeneration’s sales and marketing director, Susan Young, said: “This new phase is a major step towards our vision of Centenary Quay as a revived residential community for both young professionals and families.

“As well as the new homes, the supermarket, nursery and library will solidify Centenary Quay as an integral and vital part of Southampton.

“We anticipate that this exciting phase will bring an additional influx of interest to the area, as already seen in the first two successful stages of the development.

“I would urge anyone interested to come and visit our brand new show homes and meet the sales team to discuss how one of these beautiful homes could be yours.”

The new flats are being marketed from £150,000 for one-bedroom apartments or £185,000 for two-bedroom flats.
