A HISTORIC Winchester church is celebrating a major revamp with a four-day flower festival.
The Hospital of St Cross has been re-wired and re-lit in a £180,000 scheme.
Now the church is emblazoned with colour and decorated throughout with flowers over the next four days.
Parishioners hope the event will help raise funds towards the project.
Tonight from 6pm there will be a preview evening and festival opening with the switching on of the lights.
The church and almshouses will be open on Friday and Saturday from 10.30am to 5pm and on Sunday from 1-4pm, admission £4.50, concessions £3.50. On Friday there will a concert by the Winchester-based ladies harmony chorus, The Tudor Roses at 7.30pm in the church.
A barbecue will be held on Saturday from 11am to 3pm, with cream teas on Sunday from 4pm and Songs of Praise at 5.30pm.
