PUPILS were opening their envelopes with those precious GCSE results across Fareham and Gosport.
Henry Cort Community College, in Fareham saw its benchmark results increase by four per cent.
Eighty-two per cent of students earned five or more A* to C grades, with 63 per cent of students gaining a C grade or higher in English and maths.
Meoncross School, in Stubbington, saw a rise in their figures from 84 per cent getting five A* to Cs last year to 92 this time and a similar rise in those getting five including maths and English, from 88 to 97 per cent.
The Neville Lovett Community School, in Fareham, celebrated 82.3 per cent of pupils getting five A* to C grades, and 66 per cent getting five of those grades including maths and English.
Cams Hill School congratulated pupils, staff, parents and governors after another year of good results that saw 80.48 per cent of pupils achieving five A* to C grades and 71.43 per cent achieving those grades including in maths and English.
Crofton School in Stubbington said of its pupils, 151 of them had achieved at least five C grades, including English and maths – 71.2 per cent, up from 70 per cent the year before, while 21.2 per cent had achieved at least five A grades.
In Gosport, pupils at Brune Park Community College were celebrating with 85 per cent of pupils achieving five or more A* to C grades – a slight rise on last year.
Half the students had got five A* to C grade, including maths and English, a three per cent rise from last year.
