A SOUTHAMPTON college principal has vowed to continue outdoor expeditions after two of his students had to be rescued from Mount Snowdon.
Jonathan Prest, pictured, of Taunton's College, said: "It's terribly important to go on doing this type of trip.
"There is always going to be an element of risk.
"Our job is to minimise that risk."
The two boys were rescued by airlift after falling between Crib Goch and Pyg Track as weather conditions worsened with low cloud and rain last Wednesday afternoon.
The two students were taken to hospital but were later discharged.
A member of staff from Hampshire County Council also suffered a twisted ankle coming down the mountain.
The college sent three members of staff up to the youth hostel where the students are staying so that there would be enough drivers to take them home.
Of the three staff accompanying the 25 students studying sports development and fitness at the Hill Lane college, two were trained mountain leaders.
Mr Prest added that the college had been in contact with the families of the two injured boys since the accident and had since contacted relatives of other students taking part.
He said: "All of our hazardous trips are approved by Hampshire County Council.
"They were very happy with the arrangements that were made and the risk assessments for this trip."
However he said a review would be carried out of the trip to see if anything could be learned.
