A NEW £3m leisure centre will be open at Eastleigh's Crestwood College on Saturday.
A special feature of the new complex will be its state-of- the-art fitness suite, fully equipped with the latest cardio vascular equipment, resistance machines and weights area.
The project has been paid for by the sale of an area of unused land at the college for residential development, plus contributions from Eastleigh Council and Hampshire County Council.
The new leisure complex includes a four court multi-use sports hall, performance studio, tennis and netball courts plus a floodlit artificial training pitch.
All will be available for public use at evenings and weekends.
Eastleigh's Cabinet member for leisure, Councillor Alan Broadhurst, said: "The college has been able to transform its sports facilities and these will now benefit the students and the wider community.
"Set in the heart of the Boyatt Wood community it will offer something for everyone regardless of age, size or ability.
"Fully-qualified staff will also be on hand to provide help and information about making full use of the facilities.
"Eastleigh has some of the best sports facilities in the south and the new centre is a very welcome addition to the borough's ever improving sport and recreation scene".
A family fun day will herald the opening and feature children's activities from 10am.
