HIGHER education students at a Hampshire college are celebrating their results.
The students on the Access to HE course at Peter Symonds College in Winchester had their results which mean they have earned places at a range of universities around the country.
Two students who are feeling particularly proud of their achievements this year are Amy Stringer and Zoe Huckerby.
Amy, who is expecting a baby later in the year, was presented with the “Access Star Student of 2017” award at the end-of-year Presentation Evening and Zoe actually gave birth to her baby two days before her exams, meanwhile Zoe gave birth to her daughter Freya two days before her exam.
Amy who works at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in the therapy team said: "I've wanted to be a physio for the last 10 years, but I thought I'd left it too late and could never see how it would happen. Then I found out about the Access course and got stuck in. It's been tough working and studying at the same time, but all the students are in a similar position and we've been there for each other."
Amy will take some time out for her new arrival and then take up her place at Southampton University in September 2018.
Zoe will go on to Winchester University to study History before taking the PGCE Primary Teaching course.
The next Access to Higher Education course starts in September, to find out more about it email nmorris@psc.ac.uk
